Article Summary

IQI

The Infant Quality of Life Insturment (IQI) is the first generic, preference-based, instrument designed to assess overall HRQoL in 0-1-year old infants. The IQI consists of 7 specific health items that were chosen in a multi-step development process (Figure 1).

CS-Base

A total of 12 health items were included in CS-Base. Its content is largely based on patient input and enables classification of patients’ health status. The CS-Base instrument is the first preference-based PROM that fully incorporates patient input in selecting the health items and that can be administered by means of a mobile app.

Chronic Pain

A new instrument containing the items that are most relevant to patients suffering from chronic pain would provide valuable information on the impact of chronic pain and HRQoL. Those 8 items are fatigue, social life, cramped muscles, sleeping, housekeeping, concentration/focus, feelings of not being understood, and control over pain.

Transplant

The transplant PROM (TXP) includes 9 health items. These are fatigue, skin, worry, self-reliance, activities, weight, sexuality, stooling, and memory. These items were extracted following a mixed model. Each health item consists of 4 levels.

Dementia

The Dementia Quality-of-life instrument (DQI) is a simple PROM for people suffering from dementia. The DQI describes dementia-specific HRQOL in six domains: 1) physical health, 2) self-care, 3)
